M. and Flora Starnes Salling. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Darnell Salling, his daughter, Kate Rhoten, his grandsons, Robert James Lawson and J. D. Rhoten his brothers, Floyd and Otto Salling. His sisters, Osha Oliver, Nan Kinkead, Eva Tipton, Ida Salling and Bonnie Couch. Blackmore, VA, Jane (Jim) Smith, Johnson City, TN, and Trudy (Gene) Williams, Blountville, TN; four sons, Bud (Jeanette) Salling, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Fred (Shirley) Salling, Duffield, VA, Jeff (Debbie) Salling, Kingsport, TN, and Brian (Kathy) Salling, Ft. Blackmore, VA; son-in-law, Bill Rhoten, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Twenty grandchildren, Thirty-three great grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. And a host of friends. Graveside services for Mr. Salling will be at the Salling Family Cemetery, Salling Monument Lane, Slant, VA Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 2 p.m. Eulogy and music will be provided by Mrs. Patsy Hensley. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45 p.m. for the graveside service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
