Ryan Scott Gillenwater – Gate City, VA
Ryan Scott Gillenwater, 43, Gate City, VA passed away Monday, February 10, 2025, at Wellmont Holston Valley MC.
Ryan was born in Kingsport, TN on December 14, 1981, and was the son of Scott and Verna (Coffey) Gillenwater.
He was employed by Partners, Kingsport, TN and was of the Baptist faith.
His maternal grandparents, Blane Coffey and Lizzie B. Fritz, paternal grandparents, Paul and Eulala Gillenwater, aunt, Linda Carter, and uncle, Johnny Fritz preceded him in death.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Scott and Verna Gillenwater, brother, Adam (Jane) Gillenwater, nephews, Zane, Dadrian, and Jessam, nieces, Jamesa, ChaCha, and Jasmine, uncles, Jerry (Penny) Tomlinson, David (Christy) Fritz, Blane (Trish) Coffey, and Doug Gillenwater, along with many cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Gene Stallard and Rev. Wayne Stallard officiating. Nikki and Mickey Summey will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2025, at Holston View Cemetery. Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at Gate City Funeral Home at 12:15 p.m., Friday to go in procession to the graveside service.
