Roosevelt “Monk” Rhoton, 89, Gate City, VA, passed away, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at his residence.

Monk was born on December 6, 1934, in Scott County, VA, to the late George Rhoton and Becky Darnell Rhoton.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Cordelia Rhoton; four brothers, and one sister preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Susan (Bradley) Leben; son, Tony (Betty) Rhoton, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Cody (Angelina) Rhoton, and Emily Rhoton (Dalton Whitten); step grandchildren, Samantha Wilson (Darrell Miller), and Michelle (Craig) Martin; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Helen Sweeney, Dungannon, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, December 17, 2023, at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA, with Elder Bradley Leben officiating.
