Shirley Chapman Romero, 69, Kingsport, TN went to be with her Lord, Saturday, December 15, 2012.
Mrs. Romero, the daughter of the late Samuel and Pauline Chapman, was born in Sullivan County, TN on April 25, 1943, and lived in Kingsport most of her life. Shirley spent her life being the most dedicated and loving Mother and Wife. Shirley is a devout Christian and was a faithful member of Vernon Heights Baptist Church. Shirley will be missed so much by her loving children and husband.
In addition to her parents, her brother, Roger Chapman, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gene Romero; son Tim Allen; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Greg Silcox, Teresa and Rick Coode, Gina and Dean Grills; stepdaughters, Tina McCurry, Dinah Romero, Lynn Reed and Beth Forbes; sisters, Betty Russell and husband Ralph, and Linda Chapman; brother Jerry Chapman and wife Susan; granddaughters, Veronica Addington and Chelsey Ketron; great granddaughter, Hallie Faith Gillen; step granddaughters, Courtney Miller and husband Mitch and Brooke Silcox; step grandson, Jimmy Coode; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Gate City Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Mike Anglin officiating.
A private graveside service will follow.
