Roger Alan Templeton~Gate City, VA
Early Saturday morning, March 15, 2025, Roger Alan Templeton, 64, passed away peacefully at his home in the Manville Community of Gate City, Virginia.
Roger was born on May 19, 1960, the fourth child of Troy and Jo Ann Templeton. He was a loving father, brother, and friend, always putting the needs of others first.
Roger is survived by two children: Zachary Templeton and Brittany McConnell, and three siblings: Wilma Willen, Gerald Templeton and Rick Templeton. He was predeceased by his mother, Jo Ann Strong and father, Troy Carl Templeton.
He worked for several years at Kingsport Press/Arcata Graphics and then worked for the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Authority retiring in March of this year at the rank of Lieutenant. Roger enjoyed being outside in nature whether that be hunting, fishing, golfing, or riding his Harley motorcycle.
The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:15a.m., to go in procession to the graveside service.
Mark Peters, Ronnie Peters, Clay Pendleton, Fuzz Faust, Jeff Bush, Mo Montgomery, Clayton McDavid, and Randy McDavid will serve as pallbearers.
