Roger Greear – Dungannon, VA

Roger Kenneth Greear, 69, Dungannon, VA passed away, Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at his residence in Dungannon, VA after a period of declining health.

Roger was born on June 22, 1954, in Kingsport, TN and was the son of the late Emit Carter and Alice Lucille (Ramey) Greear.

He was a former welder with CSX.

In addition to his parents, his brother, George Carter Greear preceded him in death.

Roger is survived by his children, Shannon (Melissa) Greear, and Michelle (Roger) Campbell, grandchildren, Elissia Greear, Justin Wallen, Lindsay Collins, Kaitlyn Collins, Sarah (Nickle) Mullins, and Seth Campbell; great grandchildren, Liam Livesay, Hazel Mullins, and Samuel Mullins, sisters, Charlotte (Joe) Osborne, Margaret Blevins, and June Greear, along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 1, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Dungannon, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Beavers and Rev. Walter Taylor officiating.  Walter and Mary Taylor will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Family and friends are asked to meet at Holston View Cemetery for the graveside service.
