Martha Lynn Minnich Roberts – Johnson City, TN
Martha Lynn Minnich Roberts, 74, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at the Johnson City Medical Center, after a long illness.
She was born in Gate City, Virginia, and the daughter of the late Robert L. Minnich, Sr. and Reba Bellamy Minnich of Gate City, Virginia. Her brother, Robert L. Minnich, Jr. of Hamptonville, NC, also preceded her in death.
Martha was a Gate City High School graduate, a loving and caring wife and mother, homemaker, and a devoted long-term member of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church and the Virgil Anderson Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, James B. (Jim) Roberts of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Lisa Roberts of Libertyville, IL; a daughter and son-in law, Amy and Corey Harstvedt of Oconomowoc, WI; and four grandchildren, Kendyl and Cole Roberts, and Bellamy and Logan Harstvedt; along with several cousins, and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Friends may call from10:00 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, May 2, 2015, in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel at Gate City Funeral Home, 136 Beech Street, Gate City, VA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015, in the Sanctuary of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, 201 E. Market St., Johnson City, Tennessee. Rev. C. Mark Gooden, Senior Pastor, will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service until 6:00 p.m.
A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Washington County Memory Gardens, Boones Creek Road, Johnson City, TN.
Those attending should gather at the cemetery by 1:45 p.m. on Sunday.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations on behalf of Martha to Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, PO Box 1336, Johnson City, TN 37605, or to the American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York, NY 10006.
