Shannon Scott Rhoton, 44, Ft. Blackmore, VA passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Shannon was a lifelong resident of Scott County, VA, born in Sullivan County, TN on May 12, 1971. He was the son of Terry Lee and Brenda Puckett Rhoton.
Shannon’s life was devoted to the two loves of his life, his two little girls. He was gifted with a very close family and many friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Amber Brooke Rhoton, Ft. Blackmore, VA and Kaeleigh Faith Arnold, Ft. Blackmore, VA; brothers, Marty Lee Rhoton and wife, Julie, Gate City, VA and Christopher Allen Rhoton and wife, Billie, Ft. Blackmore, VA; along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, February 1, 2016 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Mike Gilliam, Rev. Chuck Grimm, and Rev. Gorman McMurray officiating. Durham’s Chapel and Second Coming will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the Cowden Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Mark Shepard, Hunter Rhoton, Adam Puckett, Bryan Puckett, Scott Wolfe, and Glenn Lemly will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made to help with the funeral expenses.
