Ruth Rhoton, 76, Duffield, VA went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Brian Center, Weber City, VA.

2nd Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Mrs. Rhoton was born in Scott County, VA on April 28, 1935, the daughter of the late James Howard and Bonnie Vanzant Rhoton.

In addition to her parents, her husband of 55 years, James W. Rhoton, grandson, Mark Hensley and great granddaughter, Emily Akers preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Orndorff and husband, Allan, Renick, W.VA and Sandy Luna and husband, Frank, Chesterfield, VA; son, Ricky Rhoton and wife, Patsy, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Brittany Rhoton, Michael Hensley, James Luna, and Travis Akers; great grandchildren, Brady Hensley, Cory Hensley, Katlin Akers, Mattie Hunley, and Sophie Akers; twin sister, Ruby Robinette, Blackwater, VA, sisters, Suella Bledsoe, Kingsport, TN, Madge Gilliam, Hiltons, VA, Nell Rhoton, Kingsport, TN, and Diane Pittman, Kingsport, TN; brothers, Jay Rhoton, NC, Jack Rhoton, Kingsport, TN, and David Rhoton, Blackwater, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Ricky Rhoton. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Johnny Duncan, Rev. Bill Tignor, and Rev. Tim Morelock officiating. The Ferrymen will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Free Cemetery, Natural Tunnel, VA. Grandsons and Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Friday to go in procession to the graveside service.

The family would like to convey their special thanks to the staff of the Brian Center; and to the sisters and brothers, the children would like to express their appreciation for the devotion and time shown to their mother.
