Edith Rhoton, Duffield, VA
Edith Holcomb Gilliam Rhoton, 79, Duffield, VA, was called home by her heavenly father on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Rhoton was born in Wise County, VA on September 4, 1936. She was the daughter of the late James Edward Holcomb and Martha Street Holcomb. Mrs. Rhoton attended Purchase Ridge Church.
In addition to her parents, her first husband Paul Gilliam SR., 3 sisters and 1 brother preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Earnest Rhoton, whom she loved very much; 4 sons, Paul Gilliam JR and wife Deborah, Ronald Gilliam and wife Angie, Michael Gilliam and wife Rhonda, Robert Gilliam and wife Paula; 8 grandchildren, Jessica, Rebecca, Brian, Kevin, Amanda, David, Samantha, and Jackie; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Thurman Holcomb and Jimmy Holcomb and wife Linda; 7 sisters, Betty Delaney and husband Carson, Nina Clark and husband Bob, Helen Roberts, Shelby Little and husband Jack, Loretta Hicks and husband Jim, Teresa Holcomb, Billie Holcomb.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2016 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 pm in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Ramond Summey and James Holcomb JR. officiating. The Way of the Cross will provide the music.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at Gate City Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m to go in procession to the Graveside.
