Roy Carl Repass, Sr. 70, Gate City, VA passed away, Monday, December 30, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Repass was born in Scott County, VA on August 3, 1943 to the late Raymond Carl and Nannie Lee Renfro Repass.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing or anything having to do with outdoors.
He was a member and Deacon of Roadside Mission Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, his sisters, Patsy Arlene Dingus and Janice Lee Repass; nephew, Ray Dingus and brother-in-law, Rudolph Johnson preceded him in death.
He was a retired mechanic from the Scott County School System with 25 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda Repass, Gate City, VA; daughter, Chrystal Stone Cox and husband, Rickey, Church Hill, TN; sons, Roy Carl Repass, Jr. and wife, Becky, Mount Carmel, TN, and Raymond Lynn Repass and wife, Katrina, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Steven Thacker, Jamie Cox and wife, Brandi, Nikki Repass, Savannah Repass, Trey Repass, Aurora Repass, Kylie Repass, Kayla Barnes, Kayla Repass, Cody Repass; step grandchildren, John Douglas Presley, and Allison Presley, great grandson, Braden Hall; sisters, Bertie Johnson, Kingsport, TN and Shirley Edmond and husband, Glenn, Gate City, VA; brother, Paul Repass and wife, Nell, Nickelsville, VA; along with several nieces and nephews and a very special man's best friend, Jake.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Phil Lane and Rev. Bob Lane officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Lawson Confederate Cemetery, Gate City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
The family wishes to thank the Doctors, Nurses, and staff of Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center and Nova Health and Rehab, Weber City, VA for their care of Mr. Repass, and to his special caregiver, Stephanie Garnett for all of her love and care.
