Pauline Salling Reed, 83, Dungannon, VA passed away, Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Wellmont Hospice, Bristol, TN.
Pauline was born in Dickenson County, VA on February 22, 1931 to the late Charlie and Alice Mullins Salling.
She was of the Baptist faith and a teacher’s aide, as well as a home health nurse.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Village Gaines “Bill” Reed and sister, Sally Fern Fuller preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Jean Reynolds and husband Paul, Knoxville, TN, Sally Lane and husband Bobby, Abingdon, VA, and Beth Blevins and husband Greg, Commerce, GA; sons, Chad Reed and wife Janet, Johnson City, TN, Anthony Reed and wife Cathy, Gate City, VA, Buford Reed and wife Denise, Gate City, VA, and Henry David Reed and wife Janie, Blountville, TN; sisters, Jan Mohaun, Baltimore, MD, Betty Warren and husband Joe, Baltimore, MD, and Mary Kilman, Baltimore, MD; brothers, George Salling and wife Melba, NC, Clayton Salling, Ft. Blackmore, VA, and Charlie Salling, Jr., Dover, DE; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; along with nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Larry Beavers officiating.
Private burial will be conducted at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Bobby Lane, Jeremy Jarrell, Charles Reed, Aaron Reed, Chris Taylor, Paul Reynolds, and Greg Blevins will serve as pallbearers.
