Arthur Kay Reed, 84, Weber City, VA passed away, Saturday, October 29, 2011 in Augusta, GA.
Mr. Reed was born in Scott County, VA on December 15, 1926, the son of the late William Kyle and Ada McDavid Reed.

In addition to his parents, his brother, George Denver Reed preceded him in death.

Surviving are his daughters, Susan Baxter and husband, Chris, Kingsport, TN and Sandy Begley and husband, Andy, Weber City, VA; sons, Scott Reed and wife, Louise, Weber City, VA and Robert Reed, Weber City, VA; granddaughter, Eva Grace Begley, Weber City, VA; brothers, Ed Reed and wife, Phyllis, Gate City, VA, Curtis Reed and wife, Ann, Cocoa, FL, and Ronald Reed, Weber City, VA; sister, Patricia Tate and husband, Gerald, Gate City, VA; along with several nieces and nephews and special friend, Elizabeth Reed.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Wrightly Salling and Dr. Donnie Brannen officiating. Judy McConnell will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Rick Darnell, Raymond Lane, Sonny Otte, Tom Phillips, Tommy Phillips, Travis Begley, Don Gillenwater, and Daniel McMurray will serve as pallbearers. Allen Phillips, Jimmy Phillips, Ricky Reed, Charlie Owens, Ken Mullins, Keith Mullins, Ronald Gillenwater, and Harlen Peters will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m., Tuesday for the graveside service.
