Dungannon, VA ? Lula Bell Ramsey, 95, went to be with the Lord Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born in Wise County, VA March 2, 1913 to the late Arthur Casteel and Susie Hall.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Jess Ramsey; daughter, Virginia Lee Ramsey; sisters, Panna Blevins, Ella Blevins and Jessie Smith; brothers, Omar Casteel, Paul Casteel, Carson Casteel, Phillip Casteel, Nathan Casteel and Logan Casteel.
She was a member and attended the Dungannon Freewill Baptist Church for more than 75 years.
Survivors include her three daughters, Loretta and husband, Ray Stallard, Greenville, SC, Sandy and husband, Steve Collins, Dungannon, VA and Glenda and husband, Ed Anderson, Apopka, FL; sisters, Louise Young, Kingsport, TN, Jeanette Henry, Kingsport, TN, and Emily Franklin, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Russell Rice, Jessica Watkins, Scott Anderson, Jamie Maine and Heather Taylor; three great grandchildren, Sydney Watkins, Reagan Watkins, and Jacob Anderson; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Nickelsville and other times at the residence of Steve and Sandy Collins. Services will be at 8 p.m. at Nickelsville First Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Collins and Dr. Marshall Williams officiating. Music will be by Bud Harmon.
Graveside services will be at 11a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Temple Hill Memorial Gardens, Castlewood, VA. The family will meet at 10 a.m. at the church for the graveside service.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pallbearer will be Russell Jay Rice.
The family would like to thank the Brian Center for all their assistance during her illness.
