James Michael Ramey, 63, Kingsport, TN passed away, Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Ramey was born in Sullivan County, TN on March 5, 1951 to the late Thomas Henry and Ann Culbertson Ramey.
He was retired from Tennessee Eastman as a Senior Engineer.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Tom Ramey preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Joyce Ramey; two daughters, Heather Dockery and husband, Mike, Fall Branch, TN and Krystina Ramey, Los Angeles, CA; one son, Jeremy Elliott, Gray, TN; grandchildren, Taylor, Mercedes, Kylie, Josie, Brentley, Chayse, and Charlie; brother, Dan Ramey and wife, Joann, Knoxville, TN; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Dr. Greg Burton officiating. Jamie Carder will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
