Geraldine Ramey, 62, Duffield, VA passed away, Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Geraldine was born in Scott County, VA on April 25, 1949, the daughter of the late William Hobert and Pauline Butler Ramey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Milum and Mellie Frazier Butler and paternal grandparents, Mitchell and Sally Carter Ramey.
Surviving are her sisters, Ethel Bishop and husband, Eugene, Duffield, VA, Frances Jessee and husband, James, Duffield, VA, and Vanlee Hill and husband, Frank, Duffield, VA; brother, James Ramey and wife, Sharon, Kingsport, TN; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residences of her sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Kenneth Neeley and Rev. Joe Hill officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the Carter Cemetery, Stanley Town community of Scott County, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Sunday to go in procession to the graveside service.
