Ralph Carter Chapman, Jr., 78, Duffield, VA, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Ralph was born in Ft. Blackmore, VA, on July 25, 1946, to the late Ralph Carter Chapman, Sr., and Mildred (Shupe) Chapman.

In addition to his parents, sisters, Ruth Looney, Ruby Tuner, and Donna Jean; brother Trevor Chapman; and his fur baby Sammy preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, June (Dempsey) Chapman; daughters, Dawn Ody, and Michelle Bartlebaugh (significant other, Eli Sutton); son, Jeff Chapman; sisters, Katherine Hudnell, Jackie Johnson (Paul), Nancy Best, and Carol Meyers (Kenneth); brother, Darrell Chapman (Kathy); 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Ralph will be conducted at Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home in Elyria Ohio. No formal dates for the services are available at this time.
