Wanda Bernice Raines – Dungannon, VA
Wanda B. Duncan Raines, 62, Dungannon, VA, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN.
Mrs. Raines was born in Scott County, VA on April 27, 1951 to the late Wrightly and Beulah Dockery.
Wanda was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dungannon and an honorary member of the Dungannon Fire Department. Over the years, Wanda was active in everything in her community. She enjoyed life to the fullest, always putting others first.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Daniel Duncan preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Danny Duncan, Dungannon, VA; daughters, Pam and John Raines, Kingsport, TN, Stacie Peak, Dungannon, VA and Lori Duncan, Dungannon, VA; special grandson, who she raised, Daniel Duncan and fiance, Brittany; grandchildren, Zackery Duncan, Lauren Duncan, Haley Peak, Cody Peak, Josh Ramsey and Austin Ramsey; 3 Great-Grandchildren, Elijah, Melody and Lillyanna; special great-niece, Zoey; brothers, Freddie and Jewel Dockery, Dungannon, Bo and Doretta Dockery, Dungannon, VA and Jimmy and Sharon Dockery, Kingsport, TN; sisters, Joann Grizzle, Dungannon, VA, Barbara Summey Hubbard and husband, James, Dungannon, VA, Donna and Herb McCoy, Dungannon, VA, Phyllis and Michael Grizzle, Lebannon, VA and Laura Kate Stephens, Saltville, VA; special friends, Dennis Hoover , Ann Crites and a very special friend, Lola Dean; along with many nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Dungannon Baptist Church, Dungannon, VA and anytime at Hagen Manor Apartments. Funeral services will be conducted at the Dungannon Baptist Church at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Beavers and Rev. Danny Darnell officiating. The church choir and Karen Mann will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at The Dockery Family Cemetery, Dungannon, VA. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Family and Friends are asked to meet at the church for the graveside service.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Advance Home Care, Dr. Michaels and hospital staff.
