Dollie Marie Raby, 69, Gate City, VA passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at her residence in Gate City after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Raby was born in Sullivan County, TN on December 20, 1945 to the late Robert and Laura Elizabeth Bradshaw Barger.
In addition to her parents, her mother-in-law, Carrie Raby, father-in-law, Smith Raby and a sister preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Freddie Raby, Gate City, VA; daughter, Tietta Gibson, Gate City, VA; sons, Freddie Allen Raby and wife, Becky, Gate City, VA, Tony Curtis Raby and wife, Shelly, Gate City, VA, Timothy Bruce Cross and wife, Carolyn, Blountville, TN, and Willie Lee Cross and wife, Donna, Blountville, TN; special granddaughter, Brooke Raby; grandchildren, Christopher, Sasha, Jimmy, Ann, Timmy, Donnie, Melissa, Tanner , Austin, and Kimber, who is expected in September; several great grandchildren, sisters, Pauline Gragg and husband, James, Blountville, TN and Ailene Carr, Blountville, TN; special friend and future son-in-law, Tony “Honeybun” Chester; Michelle Powers, whom she thought of as her daughter; her dogs, Sugar, Cindy, and Cookie; along with several nieces and nephews.
It was the wish of Mrs. Raby to be cremated.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Gate City United Pentecostal Church. A memorial service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank everyone for all the love, prayers, and donations during this difficult time.
