Wanda Jo Quillen – Gate City, VA
Wanda Jo Quillen, 56, Gate City, VA passed away, Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a very brief illness.
Wanda Jo was born in Scott County, VA on February 12, 1959 and was the daughter of Helen Bernice Castle Quillen and the late Kelly Ezra Quillen.
Wanda was employed by Front Porch Store and Deli in Ft. Blackmore, VA and will be greatly missed by the staff and customers.
In addition to her father, sisters, Louella and Lucille Quillen and brother, Jimmy Quillen preceded her in death.
She is survived by her mother, Helen Bernice Quillen, Gate City, VA; sisters, Brenda Dean and husband, Eddie, Ft. Blackmore, VA and Finetta Quillen, Erwin, TN; brothers, Sammy Castle and wife, Betty, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Preston Quillen and wife, Beverly, Dungannon, VA, and Rick Quillen, Hiltons, VA; two special nieces, Hannah Quillen and Kelly Quillen; along with several other nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with her brother, Pastor Rick Quillen officiating. Durham's Chapel Quartet will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Quillen Family Cemetery, River Bluff Road, Rt.659, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
