Cloteen Moore Quillen 95, Nickelsville, VA entered into rest July 10, 2011 at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Quillen was born in Scott County, VA on June 27, 1916, the daughter of the late William A. Moore and Theresa Wampler Moore. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Quillen; son, Howard Lee Quillen; brothers, Howard Moore, Joe Moore, and Edd Moore.
Surviving are her daughters, Anita Quillen of Nickelsville, VA; and Annette Horne and husband Garland of Gate City, VA; daughter-in-law, Joan Quillen of Gate City, VA; sisters Mabel McConnell of Kingsport, TN; Elizabeth Starnes of Gate City, VA; and Doris Palmer and husband I.D. of Bristol, TN; brother, Glen Moore and wife Wanda of Blountville, TN; grandchildren, Kevin Horne and wife Linda of Kingsport, TN; Bryan Horne and wife Trish of Little Elm, TX; Regina Owens and husband Ralph of Kingsport, TN; and Melissa McCullough and husband Theron of Gate City, VA; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July, 13, 2011 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Spivey and Rev. Lelbert Thornburg officiating. The Tiller Family will provide the music.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. The family will meet at the Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Kevin Horne, Bryan Horne, Ralph Owens, Theron McCullough, Charles Bartlett, and Bill Sluss will serve as pallbearers. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
