Ralph Qualls – Clinchport, VA
Mr. Ralph Thomas Qualls, 86, Clinchport, VA died peacefully Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Qualls was born in Scott County, VA on July 20, 1923, the son of the late App and Flara Bishop Qualls. He was retired from AFG Glass Plant, was of the Christian Faith, and was a longtime member of the Clinchport Town Council.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Enoch Qualls and Eugene Qualls; sisters, Blanche E. Davidson, Beada Lane, and Irene Williams; half-brothers, E. D. Qualls, Jessie Qualls, and Bill Qualls; half-sisters, Maude Pardue and Elizabeth Dishner.
Surviving is his wife, Patsy Qualls, Clinchport, VA; sons, Al Qualls and wife, Gina, Bristol, VA, and John Qualls and wife, Marilou, Kingsport, TN; daughters, Sandra Hartman and husband, Terry, Jonesboro, TN; grandchildren, Angie Menchaca, Kelly Evans, Derek Peters, Nick Qualls, Sheila Gumiran, and Nicole Qualls; great grandchildren, Sierra Menchaca, Kaitlyn Menchaca, Devin Menchaca, Collin Turner, and Madison Evans; sister, Jamie Bowen, Clinchport, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Kingsport,TN. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
