Carrie Lou (Gilmer) Price, 89, Nickelsville, VA passed away, Sunday, May 8, 2016 at NOVA Health and Rehab, Weber City, VA.
Carrie Lou was born in Scott County, VA on June 10, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Thomas Ollie and Elizabeth Francisco Gilmer.
She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, her husband, George Bernard Price; daughter, Kathy Price; sister, Dona Kate Williams; and brothers, (infant) Frankie; George, J.R., Charlie, and Howard Gilmer preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Gary Price, Nickelsville, VA; grandchildren, Nicole Hensley and husband, Tim, Nickelsville, VA and Adam Price and fiance, Lauren Horn, Weber City, VA; great grandchild, Maddie Hensley; sister, Pauline Elliott, Nickelsville, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Larry Spivey officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2014 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Lowell Williams, Larry Fields, and Joe Fuller will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family wishes to thank her caregiver, Connie Lawson and the nurses and staff at NOVA Health and Rehab for their love and care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to New Bethel Baptist Church, 1111 Big Moccasin Road, Nickelsville, VA 24271 in memory of Carrie Lou Price.
