George Bernard Price, 84, entered into rest Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Indian Path Medical Center. He was born in Scott County, VA to the late George Price and Sallie McConnell Price. Including his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Maddux and Nellie Fields; brothers, Robert and Carl Price. Survivors include his wife, Carrie G. Price, Nickelsville, VA; daughter, Kathy Price, Nickelsville, VA; son, Gary Price, Nickelsville, VA; sister, Ruth Combs, Erwin, TN; grandchildren, Nicole Pierson and husband, Dan, Kingsport, TN and Adam Price; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Larry Spivey officiating. Music will be provided by Leroy Pearson. Interment will follow the service at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Pallbearers will be David Gilmer, Travis Gilmer, Larry Fields, Johnny Gilmer, Willie White, Billy Wayne Gilmer, Lowell Williams, Brian Williams, Eric Williams, Michael Elliott and Danny Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Boyd Meade, Charlie Gilmer, J.B. Stapleton, Joe Fuller and Coy Arnold. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Bethel Baptist Church, 1111 Big Moccasin Road, Nickelsville, VA 24271. Gate City Funeral Home is serving the Price family.
