Verse 8: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Mr. Samuel Robert Pressley 74, of Hiltons, VA passed away, Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the Holston Valley Medical Center, in Kingsport, TN.
Mr. Pressley was born in South Carolina on December 12, 1936, the son of the late Samuel Mac Pressley and Bobbie Wolfe Helms. He was a retired surveyor with Duke Power Co.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Samuel Craig Pressley and sister Dale Helms. He is survived by three daughters, Tammy Pressley Blackburn and husband James of Metter, GA, Pam Pressley Youngblood of Metter, GA and Tonya Pressley Collins and husband David of Myrtle Beach, SC., two sons, Robert Craig Pressley of Hiltons, VA., and Robert Shawn Pressley and wife Renee of Kingsport, TN., two sisters, Sybil Peele of Charlotte, NC. and Betty Gibson Albemarle, NC, a brother, Billy Helms of Star, NC., several grand and great grandchildren and as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Ferry Church Tuesday March 29, 2011. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and a service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. by Pastor Johnny Duncan and Bill Tignor.
Following the service, Mr. Pressley's ashes will be scattered at his home on Foggy Bottom Lane in Hiltons, VA.
