Jeffrey Powers ? Hiltons, VA. 41 ? Went home to be with the Lord at his residence January 29, 2009.He was born in Sullivan County, TN. on January 26, 1968 to Bill Powers and the late Colleen Moore Powers.
In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his wife Amy Mercer Powers in 2007.
Surviving is his daughter, Ashton Powers of Gate City, VA. father; Bill Powers of Gate City, VA. step-daughter; Amanda Fields of Kingsport, TN., sisters; Linda J. Dail of Larkspur, CO., Billie Sue McCarthy of Marlborough, MA. and Donna Lynn Akers of Jonesborough, TN. Along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 2, 2009 from 5-7 p.m. at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Layton Bentley and Rev. John Price officiating. Music will be provided by Hannah Selty.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Pallbearers will be Travis Russell, Bobby Miller, Kevin Baker, Michael McCarthy, Brandon Akers and Chris Jones.
The family will meet at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
