Tennie Elizabeth "Liz" Poole, 68, Gate City, VA went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN.
Mrs. Poole was born in Scott County, VA on October 28, 1944 to the late Rev. Charles Willie and Stella Mae Davis Jennings.
In addition to her parents, her best friend, Dorothy Thompson; sister, Nancy Jennings and her brothers, Wayne Jennings, Larry Jennings, Danny Ford and Sammy Lee Jennings preceded her in death.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Ronnie A. Poole, Gate City, VA; daughters, Donna Clemons and husband, Rob, Kingsport, TN, Wendy Carter and husband, Mike, Gate City, VA; sons, Jeff Poole and wife, Renae, Gate City, VA, Michael Poole and wife, Robin, Gate City, VA; sister, Peggy Jo Blalock, Pennington Gap, VA; sisters-in-law, Margaret Summey and husband, John Brown, Deloris Ford and Phyllis Jennings; grandchildren, Matthew Poole, Anthony Carter, Holly Carter, Tabitha Elliott, Sammy Wells, Courtney Poole, Blake Poole, Cody Poole, Tiffany Frazizer, Dustin Porter, Kayla Vaughn, Briana Ison, Lakyn Ison ,Matthew Ison, Cody Poole, and Blake Poole; great grandchildren, Kylee Wells, Ragan Fansler, Emily Vaughn, Serenity Frazier, Macie Carter and Riley Porter; close friends, Crystal Birchfield, Tim Sexton, Mike Thompson, Heather Key ,Tina Mitchell and Todd Munsey, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Darwin Woodruff and Rev. Greg Sergent officiating. Music will be provided by , Blood Bought and Eddie Roberts.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2013 to go in procession to the graveside.
The family would to give special thanks to her caregivers, Michael Carter, Hospice and Holston Valley Medical Center.
The family wishes that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to her beloved husband Ronnie Poole.
