Nell Benton Phillippi, 93 of 195 Sue Street, Gate City, VA died January 18, 2011 at Pheasant Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Roanoke, VA. She was the daughter of the late Betty Statzer Benton and Tom Benton. She was predeceased by her husband, James Henry Phillippi; two sisters, Nan B. McClelland and Mary B. Lane; seven brothers, Bill, George, Claude "Jake", Kelly, Kyle, Rader and Bob Benton.
Mrs. Phillippi was a home maker and a member of Community Fellowship Baptist Church of Gate City, VA.
She is survived by, a son and daughter in-law, James Michael Phillippi and Peggy, Martinsville, VA and Susan Phillippi Kirk and Michael, Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, Sarah Katherine Kirk Weaver and husband Rand, Germany and James Matthew Kirk, Roanoke, VA.
Funeral Services will be conducted 7:30 p.m. Friday January 21, 2011 at Gate City Funeral Home, Gate City, VA. with Deacon M. A. Lunsford officiating. Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Funeral home Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, VA.
