Phillip Daniel Peters, 71, loving father and grandfather was called home to be with Jesus Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at his residence.
Phillip was born September 20, 1938 to the late Piert and Bessie Lane Peters. Including his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ervin Peters and James Fred Peters.
Phillip loved the Lord and his family. He made his start with the Lord in 1963 at Snowflake Holiness Church, he repented and was Baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost. He lived it until Jesus called him home.
Survivors include his daughter, Phyllis Peters, Gate City, VA; two sons, Stephen Peters, Kingsport, TN, Michael and Melissa Peters, Midway, VA; five sisters, Maxie Wise, TN, Elois Wampler, Gate City, VA, Rachael Jordon, Waycross, GA, Charlene Gose, Mt. Carmel, TN, Nancy Lane, Duffield, VA; four brothers, Horton Clyde Peters, Stewartstown, PA, Charles Hobert Peters, Gate City, VA, Ivan Peters, Gate City, VA and William Peters, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Beth, Jamey, Stephanie, Matthew and Makaela; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be at 7 p.m. in the Juanita S. Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Buford Blankenbeckler, Bro. Eugene Sexton and Bro. Mark Sexton officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Peters Family Cemetery, Midway Community. The family will meet at 10 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery for the graveside service.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
