Mrs. June Snodgrasss Penley, Gate City, VA passed away, Friday, February 27, 2015 at her residence.
Mrs. Penley was born in Scott County, VA on December 5, 1924, the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Elizabeth Jennings Snodgrass.
She was retired from First National Bank of Gate City, VA.
In addition to her parents, her sisters, Betty Elizabeth Snodgrass, Lillian Sawyer, and Edna Snodgrass preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harry Penley, Gate City, VA; nieces, Janet Taylor, Charlotte, NC and Kathy Shumate, Richmond, VA; great nephews, Ryan Shumate, Richmond, VA, Eric, Shumate, Richmond, VA, and Lock Taylor, Washington, DC; great niece, Cailtlin Taylor, LA; and special cousin, Judy Dishner, Gate City, VA.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Joe Barber officiating. Carolyn McPherson will provide the music.
