Buford "June Bug" Patrick, Jr., 50, Castlewood, VA passed away, Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.
Buford was born in Dante, VA on May 18, 1963 to Judy Shoemaker Mays and the late Buford Patrick, Sr.
He worked over 20 years for the Local Union #207 in asbestos removal.
In addition to his father, his grandmother who raised him, Eliza Shoemaker preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia McDavid Patrick, Castlewood, VA; daughters, Patricia Joann Hall, Big Stone Gap, VA, Allison Patrick, Abingdon, VA, Alexis Patrick, Abingdon, VA, and Ireland Patrick, Castlewood, VA; son, Aaron Patrick, Detroit, MI; grandson, Tristan Hall; mother, Judy Mays, St. Paul, VA; step mother, Patsy Patrick, Hansonville, VA; sisters, Rhonda Patrick and David, Dante, VA and Melba Ingle, Hansonville, VA; brothers, Michael Patrick and Barbara, Detroit, MI, Steve Patrick and Terri, Sandy Ridge, VA, and Chad Patrick and Becky, St. Paul, VA; brothers-in-law, Jeff McDavid and wife, Michelle, Clinchport, VA, Kelly McDavid, Clinchport, VA, and Claude Lee McDavid and wife, Nancy, Clinchport, VA; lifelong friend, Tony Ward, Dante, VA; along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home.
Burial will be private with his wife, Patricia and baby girl, Ireland.
