Jeanell (Nell) Williams Parks, 82, Nickelsville, VA passed away, Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Parks was born in Scott County, VA on March 30, 1926, the daughter of the late Brett and Maxie McClellan Williams. She was retired from Arcata Graphics. She was of the Methodist faith and attended Nickelsville United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Trigg Parks, an infant daughter and an infant twin sister.
Surviving is her sons, Danny Parks and wife, Brenda, Nickelsville, VA, David Parks and friend, Rhonda Ramey, Nickelsville, VA and Randy Parks and friend, Barbara Brickey, Elk Garden, VA; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sisters, Dana Haegele and husband, Tommy, Cincinnati, OH, Ruth Henry and husband, John, Gate City, VA, Lena A. Grotjohn, St. Louis, MO and JoAnn Peters and husband, Gene, Joliet, IL; brothers, Herschel Williams, Weber City, VA, James Williams and wife, Peggy, Yellow Springs, OH, several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Harold Dean.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Collins and the Rev. Joe Barber officiating. Kay and Mike Elliott will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 19, 2009 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Greg Parks, Gabe Parks, Sammy Parks, Ricky Parks, Larry Collins, Jim Delano, Junior Williams and Garnie Salyer will serve as pallbearers. Fred Parks, Joe Culbertson, Darrell Williams, J.M. Lawson, Early White, Scott Stallard, Jim Francisco and members of the Peacemakers Motorcycle Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
