Thomas Page – Nickelsville, VA
Thomas Henderson Page, Jr. 93, Nickelsville, VA passed away from this life at his residence, Friday, May 3, 2019 to be joined with his Heavenly Father.
Thomas was born in Scott County, VA on April 4, 1926. He was the son of the late Thomas Henderson and Nancy Jane (Falin) Page, Sr.
He was a decorated veteran of World War II, and was a longtime member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church of Robinette Valley.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Mildred (Baker) Page; sisters, Elsie May Sloan, Lidia Alice Cody, and Opal Page Neeley; and brothers, R.J., Emory, and Carter Lee Page preceded him in death.
Surviving are his daughters, Lyvonne Wallen and husband, Gary, Gate City, VA, Sharon Meade and husband, John, Nickelsville, VA, Robin Bright and husband, Michael, Bristol, VA, and Donna Whiten and husband, Greg, Hiltons, VA; son, Richard Page and wife, Rita, Hiltons, VA; grandchildren, Penny Mitchell, Bevelene Wallen, Stacy Page, Zachary Page, Jody Pearcy, Todd Meade, Andrew Bright, Matthew Bright, Kacy Brandt, and Carrie Whiten; 23 great grandchildren; special friend, Lorene Salling and family; along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Gate City Funeral Home and anytime at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev Darrell Fletcher and Rev. Justin Smith officiating. Todd Meade and Matthew Bright and Cora Horne and Family will provide the music.
Military graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA assisted by members of the Virginia Army National Guard Honors Team.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Tuesday to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family wishes to convey their heartfelt thanks to Caris Hospice, Bobbie Head, and Sonya Nelson for the love and support of their Dad.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 39105.
