Roy Carter Page, 65, Kingsport, TN entered into rest March 6, 2010 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Born August 30, 1944 in Washington County, TN a son of the late Emory Page (2000) and Ethel Wolfe Page (2009). He retired from Domtar Paper after 35 years of service. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and attended Doran Addition Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Merita Hurd Page, Kingsport, TN, sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce White, Kingsport, TN, Miranda Hutchens, Church Hill, TN, Marietta Bausell and husband, Kent, Kingsport, TN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Boots Page, Kingsport, TN, Jackie and Sherry Page, Kingsport, TN, Randall and Sharon Page, Wartburg, TN, Harvey and Jenny Page, Kingsport, TN, and Roger Page, Jonesboro, TN; sister-in-law, Linda Hurd Worley and friend, Mahlon Whitaker, Bristol, VA; brother-in-law, Pat Hurd and wife, Kathy, Church Hill, TN; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Wrightly Salling and Dr. Roy Lee Lester officiating. Vickie and Tommy Austin and Shanna Quillen will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.

Tom Page, Roger Page, Jackie Page, Pat Hurd, Randall Page, and Harvey Page will serve as pallbearers.

Mahlon Whitaker, Clovis Yates, Danny Gillenwater, Bill Burris, Hunter Blakley, Ben Blakley, Jay Page, all of his fishing buddies and work buddies will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Family and friends will be meeting at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Second Harvest Food Bank, 127 Dillon Court, Gray, TN 37615 or the Kingsport Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 992, Kingsport, TN 37662.
