Mildred Baker Page, 79, entered into rest June 21, 2008 at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born May 4, 1929 in Wise County, VA to the late Milton and Elizabeth Baker. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Joy Baker and Loretta Stallard; brothers, Duane Baker and Aaron Baker.
Mrs. Page was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved the Lord and thanked him everyday for her family and all the blessings he gave her. To know her, was to know love.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Thomas Page, Jr., Nickelsville, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Rita Page, Hiltons, VA; daughters and sons-in-law, Lyvonne and Gary Wallen, Gate City, VA, Sharon and John Meade, Nickelsville, VA, Robin and Michael Bright, Bristol, VA, Donna and Greg Whiten, Hiltons, VA; grandchildren, Penny Mitchell and Bevelene Wallen, Stacey Page and Zachary Page, Jody Pearcy and Todd Meade, Andrew Bright and Matthew Bright, Kacy Addington and Carrie Whiten; great grandchildren, James and Thomas Mitchell, Teagan and Adiya Page, Katie and Maddie Pearcy, Sienna Bright, Chase and Austin Porter; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Rachel Baker.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Services will be at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Darrel Fletcher and Rev. Johnny Kendrick officiating. Music will be provided by Todd Meade, Matthew Bright, Vickie Austin and Shanna Quillen.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. The family will meet at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 4619 Robinette Valley Road, Duffield, VA 24244.
