Mr. Owens was born in Jenkins, KY on August 2, 1929, and was the son of the late Hollie E. and Lessie (Daugherty) Owens.
He was the owner and operator of Owens Auto and Marine Sales.
In addition to his parents, his son, Garry Owens; and brothers, Garrell and Denver Owens preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife, Peggy Sue (Pylant) Owens, Oviedo, FL; son, Burl Mitchell Owens, Oviedo, FL; daughter, Patricia Jansen, Oviedo, FL; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; brothers, Ralph Owens and wife, Susie, Nickelsville, VA and Glenn Owens, Nickelsville, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2020 at the Nickelsville Cemetery, Nickelsville, VA.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:45 p.m., Monday for the graveside service.
