Kermit Osborne Nickelsville, VA ? Kermit Charles Osborne, 66, entered into rest Sunday, August 19, 2007 at VA Mountain Home Hospital. He was born in Scott County, VA April 19, 1941. Preceded in death by his father, John Kermit Osborne. Mr. Osborne graduated from Gate City High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, served during the Cuban Crisis. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Big Moccasin. He belonged to Stuart Masonic Lodge #224, Eastern Star #116 and the Chattanooga Scottish Rite, 32 degree mason, Pipefitters Union Local #538. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, June Ferguson Osborne, Nickelsville, VA; sons, Kermit Charles Osborne, Jr., and Richard Lee Osborne, both of Nickelsville, VA; mother; Stella Peters, Weber City, VA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sophia and John Martin, Church Hill, TN, Teresa and David Powers, Myrtle Beach, SC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony and Kathy Peters, Earl Don and Karen Peters, all of Kingsport, TN; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of John and Iva Ferguson. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2007 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Spivey and Rev. Tony Peters officiating. Music will be provided by Tony Peters. Burial will follow the service at Ferguson Cemetery, Big Moccasin Community Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
