Jason V. Odom, 36, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 10, 2008 in Zionville, NC where he had made his home for the last five years.
Jason attended Sullivan South High School and Victory Baptist Church before leaving Kingsport. He was an avid traveler visiting over 40 states. He loved the outdoors, the mountains and fishing. He was kind-hearted, friendly, and affectionately known to his friends by his nickname, "Jed".
He was preceded in death by his parents, T.J. and Jenny Odom; grandparents, Walter and Effie Venable and Dent Odom.
He is survived by his sister, Kim Smith and husband, Sam; a niece, Samantha Smith; a nephew, Tanner Smith; special "aunt" and "uncles", Barbara and Gary Spears, Kingsport, TN and Walter Allen Carter, Gate City, VA.
The family will receive friends from 4-5:30 p.m., Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Homeland Baptist Church, Kingsport, TN. A memorial service will follow with Pastor J.W. Depew officiating.
