Phyllis Pricilla Nuckels, 65, Gate City, VA passed away, Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Specialty Select Hospital, Bristol, TN.
Phyllis was born in Sullivan County, TN. She was the daughter of the late Jake Sloan and Ida Williams.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Glenn Edsel Nuckels (2014); her step father, Ezra McNutt, who raised her; and a sister, Dorlis Clendenin preceded her in death.
She was retired from Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Housekeeping.
Surviving her daughter, Sheila Shelton and husband, Bryan, Gate City, VA; sons, Shannon Nuckels and wife, Rhonda, Kingsport, TN and Mark Nuckels (Michelle), Kingsport, TN; step daughters, Donna Davidson and Debbie Salling; grandchildren, Kayla Nuckels, Lakeisha Shelton, Kristina Shelton, Nebraska Nuckels, and Alaska Nuckels; sisters, Brenda Spears, Church Hill, TN and Peggy Pierson and husband, Pete, Clinchport, VA; nephews, Danny Clendenin and Eddie Clendenin and niece, Lenis Jenkins; along with several other nieces and nephews; and her special companion, her fur baby, Kandi.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Dwayn Williams and Pastor Ronald Manis officiating. Judy Williams and Kathy Calhoun will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Sloantown Cemetery in the Sloantown community of Scott County, VA. Brian Doran, Shannon Williams, Aaron Tipton, Roger McMurray, Pete Pierson, and Bryan Shelton will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m., Friday for the graveside service.
