Norma Marie (Starnes) Houseright born November 14,1944 to the late Warren G Starnes and Nina Fletcher Jennings

She passed away peacefully with family the morning of July 2,2023 

Norma grew up in Hill Station, Virginia where she met and married the love of her life, the late James "Earl" Houseright.

She had many occupations over the years as she worked hard to help provide for her family. Mostly she worked in a Nursing capacity later she retired from Holston Medical Group in Medical Records.

She enjoyed flea markets and yard sales.

She was an exceptional cook as she cooked with love.

She was happiest when surrounded by family.

She is preceded in death by her husband James "Earl" Houseright, her father Warren G Starnes, her mother Nina Fletcher Jennings, a brother David Lee Starnes, a sister Rosie Taylor, niece Angela Ramey and 2 sons in laws Michael Gillenwater and Rodney Castle.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Teresa Castle Weber City, Va., Anita Bowlin Gate City, VA.,

Her grandchildren: Jason Gillenwater and Brandy Smith Kingsport, Tn., Laycie and Brandon Cunningham Church Hill, TN.,

T.J Hartsock Gate City, VA, W. Tyler Hartsock Gate City, VA.

She has 7 Great Grandchildren

Hailey, Katie, Graycie, Grayson "Michael”, Khloe, Mali, and Audrey. A sister Debra Hilton Honaker, VA, and several nieces and nephews.

She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses’ and now awaits the promise. Acts 24:15

Gate City Funeral Home is caring for her and the family and honoring her wish for no service.
