Mabel Mullins, 88, Gate City, VA passed away, Thursday, October 22, 2015 at NOVA Health and Rehab, Weber City, VA.
Mabel was born in Scott County, VA on September 4, 1927 and was a daughter of the late Lewis and Sara Etta Davidson Hill.
In addition to her parents, her sisters, Hazel Mozier, Olene Sanders, Nellie Gilliam; brothers, Milo Hill and Almer Hill preceded her in death.
She is survived by her Husband, Millard D. “Jake” Mullins, Duffield, VA; daughter, Linda Arnold and husband, Sam, Gate City, VA; son, Teddy “Ted” Mullins and wife, Mary Ann, Duffield, VA; sister, Nanny Starnes, Ft. Blackmore, VA; grandchildren, Jason Garland and wife, Crystal, Timothy Mullins and Emily Kelly; great grandchildren, Ashley Poe and friend, Danny Herron, Autumn Garland and Bradley Darnell; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5p.m. – 7p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Robert “Bo” Stewart officiating and provide the music.
Graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Carter Cemetery, Rye Cove Community, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Nova Health and Rehab.
