Georgia Millie Mullins, 72, Kingsport, TN and formerly of Scott County, VA passed away, Friday, July 12, 2013 at Laughlin Health Care, Greeneville, TN.
Georgia was born in Scott County, VA on July 31, 1940 to the late Farley Lee and Mary Jesse (Hill) Bishop.
In addition to her parents, her first husband, Buddy Horton and several aunts and uncles preceded her in death.
She is survived by her most special and loving companion, T.R. Mullins, Hiltons, VA; daughters, Diane Horton, Weber City, VA, Donna Horton Smith, Weber City, VA, Penny Horton Riggs and husband, Scott, Kingsport, TN, and Mitzi Oakes, Johnson City, TN; sisters, Rosa Price and husband, Gene, Kingsport, TN, Margaret Ethel Jarvis, Kokomo, IN, Shelby Lewis and husband, Ralph, Kingsport, TN, and Marcella Davis and husband, Wayne, Chuckey, TN; brothers, Eddie Bishop and wife, Sue, Kingsport, TN, Jackie Bishop, Kingsport, TN, and Donnie Bishop, Loveland, CO; eight grandchildren, Johnathan, Lela, James, Aaron, Kaitlin, Jacob, Lauren, and Lucas; one great grandchild, Gabriel; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, July 15, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with William C. White officiating. Frankie Elliott, Tim Thacker, and Johnny Greer will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Wayne Davis, Chad Crawford, Scott Riggs, Johnathan Hart, Aaron Oakes, Joe Hensley, and James Smith will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Tuesday to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of the staff at Laughlin Heathcare Center for the loving care and kindness they have given Ms. Mullins while she lived at their facility.
