David “Mitchell” Mitchell – Nickelsville, VA
David Juell “Mitchell” Mitchell, 41, Nickelsville, VA passed away, Wednesday, April 7, 2021.
“Mitchell” was born in Sullivan County, VA on December 12, 1979 and was the son of Herschel James Mitchell and the late Julia Bernice Perry.
In addition to his mother, his cat, Sylvester preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife, Stephanie (Elam) Mitchell, Nickelsville, VA; son, Brady Elijah Mitchell, Nickelsville, VA; father, Herschel James Mitchell and wife, Milissa, Dungannon, VA; sisters, Frankie Tipton and husband, Jackie, Church Hill, TN; step-sister, Rachel Stone, Dungannon, VA; brothers, Jackie Perry, Dungannon, VA, Herschel James “Junior” Mitchell and wife, Tina, Gate City, VA, Matt Stone, Gate City, VA, and Andy Stone, Dungannon, VA, his fur baby and trucking partner, Roscoe; along with several nieces and nephews, all who held a special place in David’s heart.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the Gate City Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Mitchell and Salyers Cemetery, Nickelsville, VA with Rev. James Mann and Dr. Todd Cassell officiating,
Gary Joe Chaffin, Travis “Ozzy” Osborne, Travis Salyers, Jeremy Salyers, Justin “Kerney Bob” Kerney, Matthew Varble, Mark Chaffin, and Michael Pearcy will serve as pallbearers. Matthew Mitchell, Steven Mitchell, Andrew Mitchell, Ronnie Rose, Eric Rose, Cody Mitchell, Joey Mitchell, Kevin Robinson, Ethan Vargis, Dylan Osborne, Waldo Dorton, and Doyle White will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the Mitchell and Salyers Cemetery at 12:45 p.m., Thursday for the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Gate City Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses.
