Mildred (LaForce) Owens – Gate City, VA

Mildred Geneva (LaForce) Owens, 84, passed away, Thursday, November 14, 2024, at her residence.

Mildred was born in Ft. Blackmore, VA on August 28, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Samuel J. Elbert LaForce and Pearl (Gilbert) LaForce.

In addition to her parents her husband, Charles Owens, sisters, Lois Wood, Gladys Wagner, and Esther Walker, and brothers Leonard, James, John and, Warren LaForce, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Samuel Charles Owens and wife, Cathy, sisters, Sylvia Pierson, Naomi Benton, and Marlene LaForce, best friends, Betty Carter and Patricia Darnell, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Red Hill Church, Gate City, VA.

The burial will follow at Begley Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
