Shirley Juanita Laughlin McMurray, 63, entered into rest Sunday, April 12, 2009 at her residence.
She was born in Sullivan County, TN August 3, 1945 to the late Lindsey Newland Laughlin and Willie Kate Ramey Laughlin.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Darrell Brian Laughlin and the father of her children, Garvie Wallace McMurray.
She was a member of Gardner's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheila McMurray and fiance', Roger Mullins, Hiltons, VA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Luanne McMurray, Gate City, VA, Mark and Rebecca McMurray, Blountville, TN; sister, Lou McMurray, Bristol, TN; three brothers, Jimmy Laughlin, Church Hill, TN, Leroy Laughlin and wife, Linda, Bristol, VA and Darrell Laughlin and wife, Patsy, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Megan, Kayla, Leigha, and Jordan McMurray, Taylor and Zachary Clark, and Crystal and Matthew Mullins, and one expectant great-grandchild due in October along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Gardner's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Greg Hill, Minister Clarence Huffman and Elder Bobby Carter officiating. Mrs. McMurray will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service to lie in state.
Burial will follow the service at Gardner's Chapel Cemetery, Boozy Creek Community, Hiltons, VA.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
