Danny Eugene McMurray, 51, Gate City, VA passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Indian Path Medical Center, after an extended illness.
Born in Scott County, VA to the late William Cornelius McMurray and Ollie May McMurray, Danny lived in Hiltons, VA as a small child until the family relocated to Port Clinton, OH. Danny attended Tiffin University in Tiffin, OH, was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan and loved to fish. He was a very loving person who never met a stranger. Danny was a born again Christian and a member of Glenwood Community Church, McMurray Hollow Road, Hiltons, VA.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Judy Young McMurray preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sister, Pam Addington and husband, Brad, Yuma, VA; nephew, Bobby Whiteaker and wife, Jennifer, Gate City, VA; special great niece and nephew, Eryn Grace and Elan Zane Whiteaker; Aunts, Louise McMurray, Kingsport, TN and Jewel McMurray, West Alexandria, OH; along with several cousins and friends.
The Family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Glenwood Community Church, McMurray Hollow Road, Hiltons, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Church with Pastor Ronnie Horne and Rev. Rex McMurray officiating. The Glenwood Quartet will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted following the service Friday, March 22, 2013 at The McMurray Cemetery, Hiltons, VA. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family wishes to convey special thanks to Abingdon Ambulance Service, Duffield, VA; especially Clint and Phil for their loving care and kindness.
