THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS WILL BE MEETING HERE AT THE FUNERAL HOME AT 10:15 AM , FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2014 FOR A SHORT SERVICE AND COMMITTAL SERVICE.

Charles Jefferson "Charlie Mac" McFarlane, 76, Nickelsville, VA passed away, Monday, February 10, 2014 at Elmcroft Assisted Living, Kingsport, TN.
Charlie was born March 26, 1937 to the late Charles Alonzo and Martha Lorene Fleenor McFarlane.
He was retired from AGC with 40 plus years of service.
He is survived by his daughter, Kelley Lilly and husband, Mike, Sanford, NC; grandchildren, Zachary Lilly and Madison Lilly; sister, Christine Brown, Bristol, TN; and his nieces and nephews, Vanessa Dedmon and husband, Allen, Rebecca Street, Barbara Kilgore, David Kilgore and wife, Kathy, Debbie Mitchell and husband, Gary, Tim Brown, and Mike Brown.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Darrell Fletcher officiating.
Private graveside services will be conducted at11:00 a.m., Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Fugate Cemetery, Russell County, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Friday to go in procession to the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (ACS), Local Scott County Relay for Life, 365 Mocking Bird Drive, Gate City, VA 24251 or Bethany United Methodist Church, c/o Gate City Funeral Home, P.O. Box 427, Gate City, VA 24251.
