Warren "Shawn" McDavid – Gate City, VA
Warren "Shawn" McDavid, 92, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Heritage Hall, Big Stone Gap, VA.
He was born in Scott County, VA on June 23, 1920 to the late John Ingle and Lona Quillen McDavid.
In addition to his parents, his brothers, John L., C.A., Lee, and Ira McDavid; sisters, Mary Sue Kilbourne, Doris Falin, and Elsie Herron preceded him in death.
Shawn was the last surviving member of his family. He was a gentle person with a loving heart and a trusting nature. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his brother-in-law, Rev. Eckel Herron, Gate City, VA and sister-in-law, Maggie McDavid, Gate City, VA; along with several nieces and nephews; and a great life long friend, Preacher Nat Baker who visited him faithfully and treated him like a brother for so many years.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Preacher Nat Baker and Rev. Eckel Herron officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
