Michael Steven McDavid, 58, of Fort Blackmore, VA, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, June 17, 2016, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Scott County, VA on September 10, 1957, Michael lived most his life in Scott County and was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Walter Jack and Emma Jane Ramsey.
Surviving are his wife Jeannie McDavid, of the home; 2 daughters, Carla Garreth, McDonald, PA, and Liz Engelberth and husband Chris, North East, MD; 2 step-sons, Joey Ramsey and wife Holly, Fort Blackmore, VA and Scotty Ramsey, of the home; 5 grandchildren, Damyan, Kiley, and Autumn Garreth, and Laney and Zoe Engelberth; 2 step-grandchildren, Jasper and Zoe Ramsey; 2 sisters, Zola Williams and husband David, Duffield, VA, and Robin Dorton and husband Troy, Rye Cove, VA; 2 brothers, Wayne Ramsey and wife Brenda, Rye Cove, VA and Doug Ramsey, Rye Cove, VA;2 nephews, 5nieces, 3 great nephews, and 6 great nieces.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at. the Gate City Funeral Home in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Jimmy Hammonds officiating.
Graveside services will follow at McDavid Cemetery in the Rye Cove Community, Duffield, VA, Tuesday, June 21, 2016. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
