John Ray McDaniel, 66, from Nickelsville, VA passed away on Saturday January 2, 2021 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Bristol, TN on May 22, 1954 to Ann Ryan McDaniel and the late Harold Allen McDaniel, Sr.
John was an avid Bristol, Tennessee Vikings fan, following their football program without fail.
John’s survivors include his loving wife, Betty McDaniel, Nickelsville, VA; mother, Ann Ryan McDaniel, Bristol, TN; son, Ryan McDaniel, Castlewood; daughter, Rebecca (Tim) Martin, Maryville, TN; sons, Steven (Crissy) Anderson, Versailles, KY, Scott Swafford, Maryville, TN; brother, Harold Allen McDaniel, Jr., Castlewood, VA; grandchildren, Mara Jade McDaniel, Sara Swafford, Kyle Swafford, Logan Moore, Mason Anderson, Adryanna Anderson; nieces, Amelie Burke, Cincinnati, OH, Mary Beth Rapien, Cincinnati, OH, Kathy Leonard, Kingsport, TN; special friends, Sue Bond, Brian Bond, Bradley Bond, John Felty; and many other friends.
A visitation will be held at Gate City Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
Due to Covid-19 the family requests everyone who attends please wear a face covering and adhere to the social distancing guidelines.
The family would like to thank all the Health Care facilities who were there when they were needed the most, and were earthly angels, and may God Bless you all in this world.
